2011 comes to and end...2012 begins!

Every January I look back on the past year and can't help but to be thankful. I remember back to January '09 when Sarah and I stepped away from First Baptist and started Crossover Athletics. We had no clue what we were about to go through but we have seen God do amazing things in and through us.

This past year we saw some great things. We started summer sports camps for elementary age students. It was great to encourage young people to be active, stay healthy and teach them how to follow Christ. We also started a fall flag football league in Lexington and saw our Spring league grow to the largest number yet. In 2011 we had the opportunity to work with over 400 athletes on a personal level in our community. We just don't speak to large groups but we get to know them. We remember their names, talk with their families and encourage them to achieve their God-given potential.

We teamed up with John Middleton to start a street hockey league for youth. Who knew that hockey would get any traction in the south...but it did! We had a blast learning and playing hockey. We ended the season by taking a group of kids to the Charleston Stingrays hockey game and touring their facility. It was an incredible experience for everyone involved!

Our basketball ministry has grown with the direction of Sam Brown being our director. Sam is great at working with young people and encouraging them to walk with Jesus. We are gearing up for a big 2012 travel basketball season.

I want to thank everyone who helped us achieve what we did in 2011. It's because of the generosity of individuals and businesses that we are able to share the message of Christ with young athletes. We can't say "Thank You" enough for all you've done for our ministry.

2011 was great for our ministry and we are excited about the direction of Crossover and what all God has in store for us in 2012. God Bless,
